Hespeler, ON – The week and weekend ahead sees the Shamrocks playing their final two games in the month of January. After this coming weekend, the 2023-2024 regular season will enter its final month in February.
The Shammies will travel to Wellesley on Wednesday night for an 8:30PM clash with the AppleJacks from the Wellesley Township Recreation Centre. The Shamrocks opened the month of January against the AppleJacks at home on January 4. Liam Nelson earned his tenth goal of the season that Sunday afternoon as the AppleJacks got the better of the Shamrocks via a 4-1 final. Lucas Hillert made 37 saves on 40 shots-on-goal.
The Shamrocks will then host the Norwich Merchants on Sunday afternoon at the Hespeler Memorial Arena. Twelve goals were viewed by the 183 fans at the Hespeler Memorial Arena back on December 3 as the Merchants slipped past the Shammies via 7-5 final. Andrew Harris added to the Shamrocks cause with two goals and one assist. David Hanley turned aside 30 shots-on-goal that afternoon.
The Shammies are coming off a big win this past Sunday as the team downed the visiting Paris Titans 5-3 at the Hespeler Memorial. The 179 in attendance that afternoon saw Boden White score a hattrick while Andrew Harris collected three helpers. Michael Boyle-Ricupero added a goal and an assist. Lucas Hillert made 44 saves.
