Hespeler, ON – Doherty Division action continues as the 2024 portion of the schedule is now in focus for the Shammies.
A rare Thursday evening home game sees the Wellesley AppleJacks visit the Hespeler Memorial Arena for a 7:30PM tilt. The Shammies got the upper hand last time out in November via a 6-4 win at home. Boden White chipped in with three helpers that evening. Lucas Hillert denied 24 of 28 shots to claim the win.
The team will rest on Friday before hitting the road on Saturday evening to the Wilmot Recreation Complex where the New Hamburg Firebirds wait to play hosts. The Firebirds required an empty-net goal to earn maximum points in December through a 4-2 final in New Hamburg. David Hanley stopped a jaw-dropping 49 of 52 shots fired his way. Boden White and Liam Nelson notched the goals for the Shammies. Puck drop is slated for 7:30PM.
No rest for the wicked as Sunday afternoon the Woodstock Navy Vets will make their way to the Hespeler Memorial Arena for our usual 3:30PM start time. Last time out, the teams required overtime to settle the contest. Woodstock earned the win (4-3) via the extra frame at the Woodstock District Community Complex. Jack Restauri added two helpers while Lucas Hillert stopped 31 of 35 shots on the night.
