Club History

The Hespeler Shamrocks Junior Hockey Club enjoy a well travelled history throughout the years. Originally, in 1959, the club was formed in Simcoe, Ontario and branded as the Simcoe Juniors ahead of the 1959-1960 season.

From 1960 to 2018, the club competed in Simcoe but under a variety of names such as the Pacers, Blades, Chargers, Jets, Penguins, Rams, and Storm. The Simcoe Storm were the longest serving club brand and spanned over the years from 1989 to 2017.

During the 2017-2018 season, the final year in Simcoe, the club rebranded to the Simcoe Shamrocks. A year layer, ahead of the 2018-2019 season, the Hespeler Shamrocks emerged in the Provincial Hockey League’s Bloomfield Division. During the 2021-2022 season, the club shifted divisions to their current home in the Doherty Division.
